Sign using smart card

Feb 12, 2013 at 8:40 AM
I'm trying to sign a PDF file using smart card but iSafePDF doesn't ask for my PIN number and output files are not signed. How can I enter PIN number manually and programmatically?

Hi,
i also have the same problem, for the precision my problem is that when i select the certificate, from the windows certificate store, it doesn't have the private key which remains in the smart-card, so when I try to sign the pdf, i get an error.

Kindly, it's possible to share your solution?

Thank you.

George.

Technically you cannot access the private key in smart card. That's why they are safe. You have to use API and sign the document using embedded private key and it's PIN number.

Send me a mail to receive my solution.

I have found a solution by looking at the following example:

https://www.pkcs11interop.net/extensions/pdf/

and I developed a bit of code to retrieve automatically the ckalabel by X509Certificate's properties stored into the Windows Certificate Store...
